Continued from front.... The forum’s position is coming against the backdrop of recent killings in Yelwa, Plateau State, and Kano, which resulting in the death of hundreds of people and properties worth hundreds of millions of naira.
Rising from its sixth meeting in Abuja at the weekend, the forum in an 11-point communique said: The federal government should ensure that Nigerians are not discriminated against on the basis of indigeneship in any part of the country.”
The royal fathers contended that since the bulk of the maintenance of peace and security at the grassroots level resides in them, it was only natural for their roles be recognised through constitutional provisions. |
